Immunofluorescence images of human iPSC-derived metanephric mesenchyme nephron progenitor cells on day 9 of kidney organoid differentiation. Cells stained for MM markers: SIX2 (green) and PAX2 (red). Scale bar 1000 μm. Shows nephron progenitor cells co-expressing SIX2 and PAX2, key transcription factors of the cap mesenchyme. (human (iPSC-derived metanephric mesenchyme, nephron progenitor stage day 9); Figure 6, b.)

Immunohistochemical staining for stem cell markers in human fetal kidney (HFK) at 12, 13 and 18 weeks of gestation. Panel includes SIX2, NCAM1, FZD7, ACVR2B and NTRK2 staining in paraffin-embedded kidney sections. SIX2+ cells mark the cap mesenchyme (nephron progenitor population) in the developing metanephric mesenchyme. (human (fetal kidney 12-18 weeks gestation); Figure 3, a.)
